Hungary – the Queen of the Danube

Budapest, Szentendre, Eger, Balaton, Heviz

 

Day 1:

 Arrival to Budapest. Transfer to Siofok which is situated on the shore of the Lake Balaton. Siofok is one of the most vivid tourist centre of Hungary. Imre Kalman, the world-famous composer of many operettes was born here. Today his former residence serves as a museum of the composer. Siofok is also known as a „ summer pilgrimage” place of the youngsters.

Accomodation at the hotel. Sightseeing in Siofok. Dinner. 

Day 2:

 Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Heviz and Tihany.Visiting the most famous abbey of Hungaryin Tihany; its construction began in 1055. Excursion to the Lapidarium (stone monuments and fragments museum) which has a huge collection of tombs, coffins and ornaments that date back to the ancient times when Romans lived on the territoryof Hungary. Lunch in the lately afternoon.

Transfer to Budapest, accomodation at the hotel. 

Day 3:

Sightseeing tour in Budapest. During the excursion you will see the Castleof Budathat is included in the list of World Heritage, the RoyalPalace, the MatthiasChurch, the Fisherman’s Bastion and the Parliament. You can also enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the city from the observation points of hill Gellért. In addition, you will visit the most beautiful square of the capital - Heroes’ Square, the VajdahunyadCastleand lots of other sights. Lunch in the “Trofea” buffet restaurant. Free time.

Day 4:

 After breakfast excursion to Szentendre – the city of painters, museums and the centre of the Hungarian Eastern Orthodox religion. Excursion to the Marzipan museum. Transfer back to Budapest. Lunch. Pedestrian tour on the street Vaci. During your free time you can visit other museums, shopping malls and thermal baths. 

Day 5:

 Breakfast. Transfer to Eger– one of the most exciting Hungarian cities – situated 120 km far from Budapest. Egeris famous for its “medieval atmosphere” and historical monuments. Egeris also renown for its huge castle that repelled a severe Turkish attack in the 15^th century. Visiting the city centre, the castle and the basilica. Lunch with a vine tasting in the valley of the “Beautiful Women”.

Free time and transfer back to Budapest. 

 Day 6:

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport.
