Yoshkar-Ola
Yoshkar-Ola is the capital and the largest city of the Mari-El Republic of the Russian Federation. It is also a political, industrial, scientific, and cultural city. The city was founded in 1584. Yoshkar-Ola means Red City in Mari. The population is 248,700 people and consists of primarily of Maris and Russians. The city is situated in a temperate continental climate, with an average temperature of +19°C in July and an average temperature of -13°C in January.
